The Vision: The creative ambition was to materialise a high-impact pop spectacle specifically tailored for the transition from day to dusk on the Great Oak Stage. Supporting Kylie Minogue, the narrative sought to provide MARINA with a bold, architectural presence capable of commanding the vastness of Hyde Park. The intent was to create an environment that felt inherently glamorous and "expensive" regardless of the shifting ambient light, ensuring a seamless visual journey as the sun set over the audience.

The Manifestation: NeonBlack delivered the creative direction and design, anchoring the performance with a shimmering metallic set. We materialised a structural reality featuring clean lines and reflective surfaces designed to catch the afternoon sun, including a concealed lift for a dramatic, high-stakes reveal. Central to the visual identity was our curation of the digital landscape; we integrated a series of bespoke, hand-cut paper collage animations by artist Dominique Falcone. By reimagining these tactile, physical artworks for the screen, we created a layered and uniquely textured backdrop. The lighting was sculpted with a lens-first vibrancy, engineered to maintain its punch and saturation in high-ambient daylight before gradually taking command of the atmosphere as the evening progressed.

The Result: The performance realised a dynamic and visually dense celebration of MARINA’s aesthetic, successfully bridging the gap between a festival support slot and a headline-calibre production. By leading the creative and technical narrative, we manifested an environment that felt cohesive and polished across every camera angle. The result was a standout festival moment that proved our capability to manage large-scale outdoor locations and the unique challenges of evolving natural light through the fusion of bespoke scenic and analogue-inspired digital art.
