The Vision: The creative mandate for the 2025 Welsh Investment Summit at the ICC Newport was to dismantle the sterile, predictable nature of high-level diplomatic gatherings. Challenged by the First Minister of Wales, NeonBlack was engaged to materialise a vision that moved beyond the traditional "black-tie dinner" format, instead reflecting the country’s cultural depth and scientific innovation. The objective was to curate an evening that would act as a profound catalyst for global investment, creating a sensory experience that would live long in the memory of every delegate.

The Manifestation: NeonBlack provided the creative direction, leading a series of intentional scenic interventions that began with a structural transformation of the ICC facade and foyer. We sculpted a dramatic walkway entrance to guide delegates into a Main Hall defined by a full 3D projection environment. This immersive digital scenography enveloped over 350 guests, transitioning the space from the peaks of Snowdon to the historic banqueting hall of Caerphilly Castle. The structural narrative was further reinforced by a seven-minute immersive cinematic feature directed by NeonBlack's Paul Johnson and voiced by Michael Sheenan and the performance drection of artists such as Welsh of the West End. By synchronizing the vocal authority of the First Minister with a precise sound and lighting narrative, we materialised a vibrancy that commanded the room.

The Result: The summit realised a staggering economic impact, directly contributing to raising over £16 billion in onward investment. By surpassing the creative expectations of the Welsh Government, we manifested a new benchmark for high-stakes, immersive environments where the strength of the narrative drives tangible global results. The result was a definitive success that proved our capability to act as creative co-pilots on projects of immense national and economic significance.
