Freya Ridings

The Vision: The conceptual focus was to materialise the evocative, botanical narrative of Freya Ridings’ Blood Orange album within a live touring environment. Freya approached us with a potent vision for the show, and our objective was to anchor the performance in a singular, iconic centerpiece that could bridge the gap between organic beauty and theatrical drama. The intent was to create a space that felt both intimate and expansive, using natural symbolism to reflect the emotional core of the music.

The Manifestation: NeonBlack provided the lighting and scenic design, centering the stage around a bespoke, large-scale tree. We materialised a structural reality where the tree was laden with internally lit oranges - augmented by authentic fruit from Borough Market - to create a glowing, textured focal point. We framed this central element with a high-saturation upstage backdrop, utilizing a theatrical gauze to facilitate a dramatic reveal at the top of the performance. The spatial choreography focused on a lens-first vibrancy, using the warm, internal glow of the "blood oranges" to sculpt the atmosphere and ensure the show remained elegantly simple while maintaining a profound visual impact.

The Result: The tour realised a beautifully refined and engaging celebration of Freya’s artistic identity. By acting as creative co-pilots, we manifested an environment that was both physically striking and emotionally resonant. The result was an elegant, narrative-driven spectacle that proved our capability to take a specific, literal concept and transform it into a sophisticated, world-class stage design.
